Its a good thing it was only a sign. And maybe that is the genius of it, a stop sign. But the timing was questionable. The action career limiting. A human work of art. A bold statement, a call to arms, so many things embodied in this woman's actions.
The jury is out. The time to stop Harper, who was found in contempt of parliament, is over. He was given a majority government. Canadians really do deserve the government they get.
I wonder as well about the media attention. When Les Amis raise the issue of navigational rights we could barely get a footnote in the media. This leads one to think that if you want attention in the media one has to do something as bold as this.
All very remarkable nonetheless.
In her press release... prepared for the occasion she said this:
"We have to stop him from wasting billions on fighter jets, military bases, and corporate tax cuts while cutting social programs and destroying the climate. Most people in this country know what we need are green jobs, better medicare, and a healthy environment for future generations."
I believe she is correct. She didn't mention the extra money for prisons or the contempt of parliament business.
Brave girl, in my opinion. Now after nuking this career, what is her next move?
