Allaboutwhitewater is AllaboutMoney
Somebody asked me why AllaboutWhitewater seems to be AllaboutMoney.
Its because after taking the Federal Government to court over the loss of the right to navigate the dam at Laniel, even though we had history, the law and morality on our side we still lost.
The reason we lost was all about money.
Today grossly indecent acts are being perpetrated on our environment and endorsed by the bad asses that constitute our Harper Government. People continue to bend over, while watching hockey. The Silence is deafening.
The introduction of the OMINOUS OMNIBUS bill will change so many pieces of legislation we will barely recognize Canada once the Harper Government gets through with their work. What's on tap?
Bill C-38: the Environmental Destruction Act
C-38, known as the omnibus budget bill - to be fast-tracked
-Canadian Environmental Assessment Act ditched.
-Kyoto Protocol Implementation Act killed.
-Fisheries Act seriously weakened.
-Navigable Waters Protection Act hampered -a pipeline
is not a "work" within that act.
-Energy Board Act neutered.
-Parks Canada Agency Act trimmed, staff cut.
-Canadian Oil and Gas Operations Act - exempts pipelines from the Navigational Waters Act.
-Coasting Trade Act promotes seismic testing and increased off-shore drilling.
-Nuclear Safety Control Act undermined now contains a built-in conflict.
-Canada Seeds Act inspections privatized.
-Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Act devotes good land to livestock.
-National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy killed.
-More attacks on environmental groups funding
-Water programs cut- aimed at promoting or monitoring water-use efficiency.
-Wastewater survey cut.
-Monitoring effluent will be cut by 20 per cent.
Conservative senators will vote on it as soon as possible -tragically for Canada.
